The Secret to Creating Great Content

Have you ever done this? You sit down to write a blog or social media post and realize you don’t have anything to say? Sure there’s probably something, but for the life of you, you can’t think of it right now and you need to write something because your next meeting starts in twenty minutes.

The key to having people love your content is to provide them with value.  But if you feel pressure to put something out in order to meet a deadline, you will rush through it and end up with a watered down version of what you really wanted to say.

So how do you avoid this?

1. Plan Your Content - Take two hours at the end of a month and plan all your content for the next month. What topics are you going to write about? Are you going to do video and/or take photos? When will you physically do it?  Are you going to push your lead magnet twice next month? Great, build that into the plan as well.

2. Build a content calendar - Look at the upcoming month and decide what days you’ll post and what topic and content will go in each day. To make this easier you can create an excel spreadsheet, or you can use one of the many free content calendar tools that are available on the internet. Just find a system that works for you.

3. Schedule Posts in Advance – This will make your life super easy! Facebook and Instagram will allow you to schedule your posts directly in their platform, or you can use a scheduling tool like Hootsuite or Buffer.

Creating content can be difficult on the fly, but with a few hours of planning each month, you can create content that your audience will love!
